A recent story on Health.com by Kathleen Mulpeter entitled, “What is microneedling? How Poking Tiny Holes in Your Face Can Make You Look Younger”, discusses the merits of microneedling and features a video montage of MDPen facebook videos to show the procedure!  We are happy to have our device featured in a story that helps patients and providers to understand the many benefits of microneedling.  It is also exciting to know that our Facebook page is considered a source for understanding microneedling.  Please visit us on Facebook to learn more about MDPen!

In her article, Mulpeter begins, “We know what you’re probably thinking: poking little holes into your face in the name of beauty sounds insane. But experts agree that when done properly, microneedling is relatively risk-free and can have real benefits for your skin.”

The article quotes Bruce E. Katz, MD, founder of the Juva Skin & Laser Center in New York City, as saying, “The results are very impressive.”  Also quoted is Debra Jaliman, MD, a New York City-based dermatologist, who said, “I’d recommend [microneedling] to patients to help reduce pore size and improve texture.”

Mulpeter describes the procedure:  “The entire process takes about 15 minutes. A numbing cream is applied first, then the needles are moved across the skin using a small handheld device […] The result is smoother, firmer, more even-looking skin. By promoting collagen growth, microneedling may help reverse signs of aging (such as fine lines), fade acne scars, and make skin look refreshed.”

Health.com and many others have recognized the many advantages of microneedling in the anti-aging process. microneedling or collagen induction therapy is a simple procedure that will naturally help eliminate fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging of the skin. It also helps in stretch marks and acne scarring.

MDPen posts all of its workshops for microneedling practitioners or those interested in becoming microneedling practitioners on our Facebook page. In addition to the latest on our microneedling workshops, our Facebook page is a great resource for videos of the microneedling procedure as well as patient testimonials and photos of microneedling results.
